Connected Systems

Keep shared records aligned with a clear source of truth.

When several tools use the same information, disagreement between records can interrupt work. VT LAB scopes data synchronisation around which system owns each field and how changes should move. The goal is controlled consistency between agreed sources, not copying everything everywhere.

01

Choose where each value is authoritative

Map identifiers, shared fields and the system allowed to change them. Determine whether information travels in one direction or requires a carefully defined return path. Competing edits, deleted records and mismatched identifiers need explicit rules before synchronisation can be considered safe for the agreed workflow.

02

Control updates and delayed information

Agree when changes move, how completion is checked and how stale data is identified. Test duplicates, unavailable destinations and retries against representative records. The receiving system should distinguish current information from a transfer still waiting for recovery, rather than presenting every local value as unquestionably up to date.

03

Bring records that currently disagree

Share the named systems, safe example records, existing mappings and cases where values diverge. Identify who decides conflicts and which interfaces are available. We scope and verify the exchange rules; a reporting dashboard reads and presents information, while synchronisation manages its movement and consistency.

Which shared records drift apart?

Show the systems, the conflicting fields and the source that should decide the correct value.
